She Believed She Could & So She Did!
Kamah Asha Wilson, a native of Gonzales, Louisiana, is the 22 year old daughter of Kirk and Ava Wilson. The oldest of three, she anticipates graduation in May of 2015 from Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond, Louisiana with her Bachelor's of Social Work and a Minor in Psychology. Her sister, Karleh Wilson, is a student at Yale University while her brother, Kai Wilson attends the Art Academy Institute in San Francisco, California.
Kamah has a lot of personality, talent, energy and passion to spread around. Kamah has been singing since she was a little girl and has played clarinet for 12 years. Some of the greatest moments of her life took place during her 6 year participation in high school marching band, the Southeastern Louisiana University's "Spirit of the Southland" Marching Band and her 3 year participation with the Southeastern Louisiana University Wind Symphony. Kamah also participates in the SELU Social Work club bringing awareness to the college campus as various issues such as Self Esteem, Human Trafficking, Violence Against Women and Children, Eating Disorder Awareness, and much more. A member of the Sigma Alpha Iota Professional Music Fraternity, Kamah loves to bring the gift of music to the ears and hearts of troubled youth, the community, the elderly and hospital patients in the community. Kamah is very involved with her church, Soul's Harbor Worship Center, in Hammond, Louisiana where she is encouraged and inspired to live out her purpose serving God's people in many different capacities. Kamah's goal as World's Universal Girl is to use her title to glorify God and "sparkle" on the various issues she is passionate about. She loves to reflect God's light in the world. What better a reflector than a crown full of jewels and gems!
